This Rosemount backyard went from plain grass to a space the homeowners can actually use - right away. That's the goal every time. A well-built paver patio doesn't just look good, it gives you somewhere to be outside. And this one delivers.

We used County Materials Discover pavers, blending the Timeless and Reflection color options to get that layered, dimensional look. The lighter field pavers in the center contrast nicely against the darker border running the perimeter - it creates a clean frame without being too flashy. Subtle, but sharp.

The steps were a key part of this one. The back door sits elevated from grade, so we built out a full three-tier paver staircase to connect the home to the patio smoothly. Each tier is wide and solid. No awkward transitions, no safety concerns - just a clean drop from the door to the patio surface.

One thing worth knowing: we're coming back in spring to seal it. Sealing a new paver patio after it has had time to settle and cure is the right move. It brings out the color, locks in the joint sand, and gives the surface real long-term protection. Skipping it or rushing it doesn't do the install justice.

Paver patios hold their value well and they're built to handle Minnesota winters without cracking the way poured concrete can. If your backyard is just sitting there unused, a setup like this is worth a serious look.
