This was a big one. A full backyard renovation that touched just about everything - pavers, natural stone, boulders, a retaining wall, drainage, concrete, fencing, lighting, gas, and general landscaping. Projects like this require serious coordination across multiple trades, and that's exactly what we did. Every element had to work together, not just look good on its own.
The hardscaping side of things was a major focus. The paver patio wraps the pool and outdoor living area cleanly, with a contrasting border detail and a curved built-in fire pit area that anchors the whole space. Natural stone steps and boulders were used to handle the grade change on the side of the property - functional, but done in a way that actually looks intentional. That's the difference between just solving a problem and solving it right.
The retaining wall runs along the lower edge of the yard and does real work. It holds back the grade, creates defined space, and ties into the cedar privacy fence above it. That fence - horizontal slat cedar with black steel posts - gives the pool area a clean, modern feel while also screening the yard from the street below. These aren't details you just slap together. They take planning from the start.
From the aerial view, you can see how the whole yard comes together as one cohesive space. The pool area, the patio, the side yard with the natural stone path and gravel, the landscaping around the perimeter - it all reads as one design, not a collection of separate projects. That kind of result only happens when every trade is on the same page from day one, and someone is managing that process from start to finish.
This took over a month to complete, and we're genuinely proud of how it turned out. It's the kind of project that shows what's possible when hardscaping, landscaping, and skilled tradespeople all work together toward the same goal.
